Akupunktio
Viimeisen kahdenkymmenen vuoden aikana on akupunktion tutkimus kasvanut huomattavasti; Evidence Based Acupuncturen mukaan em. ajassa on tehty yli 13 000 tutkimusta yli 60 maassa. Määrä on huomattava ja se kasvaa jatkuvasti. Akupunktiosta on tehty tutkimusta eri metodein ja metodologioin. Akupunktion tehoa yksittäisenä ja/tai tukihoitona esimerkiksi akuutin ja kroonisen kivun hoidossa, naisten terveydenhuollossa sekä emotionaalisissa ja psyykkisissä sairauksissa/oireissa on myös tutkittu suhteellisen paljon. Suuri määrä tutkimuksia on keskittynyt hoitomuodon turvallisuuteen. Yleisesti on todettu, että akupunktio on turvallinen hoitomuoto, kun sen tekee koulutettu akupunktiohoitaja.
